Finsbury Park Sky - Mounted Art Print depicting an orange and yellow, late summer sky behind a north london sash window.

This painting is a tribute to the Finsbury Park sky.

I’ve lived in Finsbury Park for around seven years now.

And I’ve found myself photographing the sky and clouds more than anything else.

Some clouds frame rooftops and trees so beautifully they feel composed.

Others exist for only minutes, caught behind a sash window before they disappear.

One afternoon, I took this photo from inside my flat.

Later, I heard the story of the man who named the clouds —here in this little area of north London. Luke Howard- look him up.

He sketched them. Studied them. Gave them names that are still used today.

This sky stayed with me — so I painted it.
