This painting is a tribute to Mother’s.
I took this photo on holiday.
The sky looked serene. I loved the shapes, the angles, and the texture. I thought it would make a good painting
The best bit was the way the moon aligned with this sci-fi-looking fan on top of the building
It reminded me of a phrase my mum says to me: “To the moon and back.”
When I painted it, I imagined replying— and changed the words to suit.
A lady at a market bought a print from me recently, for a friend who is a new mum.
I was glad to hear it had gone full circle. Love sent from mother to child—
and one day back again.
